Who we are
Background
The Augustine Classical School is an initiative started by Roland and Yaxian Knight. Their motivation to start a Classical Christian school is as follows:
"When we step onto this historic land of England, we are always deeply touched by its rich Christian history—the testimonies of godly fathers who have walked this same path. At the same time, we feel deep sorrow over all that has been lost. Churches are disappearing and shrinking across this land. The last generation has lost the present one, and we are losing the next. Before this generation completely sinks, education must be the last anchor we hold onto—for the sake of survival."
Our motto: Freedom Through Truth for Service
Our motto encapsulates our vision: training students to love and seek truth, developing their intellectual and spiritual freedom, and preparing them for a life of meaningful service.
Our name: Augustine Classical School
Our school is named after the great church father, St. Augustine of Hippo. He received a Classical education and became the greatest philosopher and theologian of the early church. He had a vision for Christian education which he expressed in his work, Christian Education, which influenced Christian educators for centuries.
Our goal
We want to make Classical Christian Education accessible to more families. Therefore we want to start as a cottage school and meanwhile we will work on setting up a full-time school.
